This recently reformed village house offers spacious accommodation for up to 6 guests. The house is very well equipped and comfortable. The house is located on the edge of the village which is very peaceful. It is a few minutes walk to the centre of the village. There are views to the surrounding mountains and the Mediterranean sea. A wonderful opportunity to experience a traditional working spanish village in an outstanding location yet only 15 minutes from the coast and quiet beaches.

Rubite occupies a rocky spur in a valley that rolls down to the sea. It is about 2,500 feet above sea level and is a labyrinth of steep streets, small squares and steps. The whitewashed houses, cobbled streets and trailing bougainvillaea are charming and picturesque. There are approximately 250 people living in Rubite. Many of these are farmers or shepherds following traditional farming methods. There are corrals of sheep and goats in and around the village. They are taken daily to graze in the surrounding mountains. Farmers ride out of the village on their mules to work the land. The area is excellent for walking and nature lovers. In spring time the wild flowers are a riot of colour on the mountainsides. For bird watchers there are frequent sightings of bee-eaters, hoopoes and golden orioles. If you are lucky the magnificent golden eagle may be seen soaring overhead. Rubite offers a number of facilities for locals and visitors. The village shop provides a wide range of fresh foods and household items at very fair prices. Fresh fish is delivered to the village daily. There are two bakeries in the village with one selling traditional mountain loaves cooked in an ancient oven. There is a bar offering great wine and tapas. During the week there are daily doctors surgeries and a pharmacy. None of the villagers speak English so a little Spanish is useful, however, people will always take the time to try and understand what you want. The pace of life is very slow and laid back.
