Coast/Beach The coast of the Costa del Sol with its many sandy beaches, bars and restaurants is within an hour, whilst the Atlantic coast at Tarifa for wind surfing is another 45 mins. For the intrepid traveller, a day trip to Tanger is also possible with a fast ferryboat. From Algeciras it takes an hour to reach the excitement of North Africa. Golf Ronda will have a golf course soon, but for the time-being there are alternatives at Antequera (c.45 mins), Arcos (c.30 mins), and, of course, the Costa del Sol has dozens... around Marbella, Estepona, Mijas, Alhaurin, etc Skiing The Sierra Nevada is worth visiting, as is the wonderful city of Granada at the foot of the mountains. The Alhambra gets busy, so always book ahead. The flamenco here is also well worth checking out. Special interest holidays The owners of Finca Las Alfaquaras can offer tuition in special acrylic painting and in Raku ceramics. Trail riding is possible in the immediate vicinity.
